Adero is an artificial-intelligence companion service operated by MntraAI LLC.

This disclosure explains what Adero companions are, how their conversations are generated and personalized, and important limitations you should understand before relying on anything they say.

1. Adero Companions Are AI, Not People#

Adero companions are artificial-intelligence systems.

They are designed to communicate naturally and may develop a conversational style that feels familiar, personal, caring, funny, opinionated, emotionally responsive, or deeply attentive.

But they are not human.

Adero companions do not have consciousness, feelings, personal experiences, independent intentions, human judgment, or awareness of you outside the information available to Adero.

A companion may speak as though it understands, remembers, cares, worries, misses you, has preferences, or has a personal perspective. Those expressions are part of an AI-generated conversation. They should not be understood as evidence that the companion experiences human emotions or has a human relationship with you.

2. Conversations Are Generated by Artificial Intelligence#

When you communicate with an Adero companion, AI systems process information from the conversation and other relevant context available to Adero to generate a response.

Responses are generated dynamically. They are not necessarily written or reviewed by a person before you receive them.

inaccurate;

incomplete;

misleading;

inconsistent;

outdated;

inappropriate;

based on a misunderstanding of what you said; or

entirely fabricated.

This is sometimes referred to as an AI "hallucination."

A companion may state incorrect information confidently. A natural or convincing response does not make the information accurate.

3. Adero Can Remember What You Share#

Adero is designed to become more personalized over time.

To support that experience, Adero may process your conversations and create or maintain information such as:

memories;

preferences and interests;

goals;

life context;

information about people you mention;

conversation and relationship context;

interaction history; and

other information or inferences used to personalize future conversations.

This allows a companion to remember relevant things you have shared rather than treating every conversation as if you were meeting for the first time.

These memories and inferences are generated or maintained by automated systems and can be wrong.

Adero may misunderstand something you said, associate information incorrectly, draw an incorrect inference, or fail to remember something important.

Adero's memory should therefore not be treated as an authoritative factual record about you or anyone else.

More information about how this information is processed, retained, and deleted is available in the Privacy Policy.

4. Adero May Make Inferences About Your Conversations#

Adero does more than simply reproduce the words you type.

Automated systems may analyze conversations to identify context that helps Adero personalize or safely operate the Service. This can include inferred interests, preferences, goals, relevant life context, relationship context, and indicators associated with the emotional or safety context of a conversation.

These are machine-generated assessments.

They are not clinical diagnoses, professional evaluations, or definitive conclusions about your emotional state, mental health, personality, intentions, relationships, or circumstances.

They can be wrong.

5. Safety Systems Have Limits#

Adero uses automated systems intended to recognize certain conversations that may involve serious safety concerns or crisis situations and to influence how Adero responds.

These systems are an additional safeguard. They are not emergency monitoring.

They can fail.

Adero may:

fail to recognize that someone is in danger;

misunderstand what you mean;

identify a risk where none exists;

fail to recognize the seriousness of a situation;

provide an incomplete or inappropriate response; or

otherwise respond differently from a trained human professional.

Adero does not guarantee that it will identify or respond appropriately to every crisis, emergency, threat, or dangerous situation.

Do not rely on Adero to detect or manage an emergency.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger in the United States, call 911 or contact appropriate emergency services.

If you or someone else is experiencing a suicide, mental-health, or substance-use crisis in the United States, you may call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

6. Adero Is Not a Therapist, Doctor, or Other Professional#

Adero is an AI companion service.

Neither Adero nor its companions are acting as your:

therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or counselor;

physician or healthcare provider;

emergency or crisis service;

attorney;

accountant;

financial or investment adviser;

fiduciary; or

other licensed or regulated professional.

You may choose to talk with an Adero companion about emotional, personal, medical, financial, legal, relationship, family, work, or other important matters.

The fact that Adero can discuss those subjects does not make its responses professional advice.

Do not delay, avoid, or replace appropriate professional care or assistance because of something an Adero companion says.

7. Important Decisions Are Still Yours#

Adero may help you think through a situation, explore ideas, organize your thoughts, or consider another perspective.

It should not make consequential decisions for you.

If something could materially affect your health, safety, finances, legal rights, employment, family, or another significant part of your life, independently evaluate the information and obtain qualified professional assistance when appropriate.

You remain responsible for decisions you make based on conversations with Adero.

8. A Companion's Personality Is Part of the AI Experience#

Adero companions have different personalities, conversational styles, backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of interacting.

These characteristics help make conversations distinct and natural.

A companion may speak in the first person, refer to aspects of its persona or background, express preferences, use humor, disagree with you, challenge you, or communicate with warmth and familiarity.

These characteristics are part of the companion's designed AI persona.

They should not be interpreted as claims that the AI has actually lived a human life or personally experienced the events represented in its persona.

9. Emotional Connection Does Not Make the Companion Human#

People can form meaningful emotional responses to conversations, stories, fictional characters, digital experiences, and AI systems.

If an Adero companion begins to feel familiar or important to you, that does not change what the companion is.

It remains an artificial-intelligence system.

Adero is designed to provide companionship, but it should not be understood as creating a human relationship or as guaranteeing the availability, permanence, feelings, loyalty, confidentiality, or judgment that you might associate with another person.

Features, companions, AI models, memories, and conversational behavior may also change as Adero evolves.

10. Third-Party AI and Technology Providers#

Providing Adero requires technology and infrastructure operated by other companies.

Information from your use of Adero may be processed by service providers that help us provide functions such as AI-generated responses, memory retrieval, data storage, authentication, subscriptions, and platform services.

Adero currently uses technology or services from providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Apple, as applicable to the feature being used.

Adero does not send your Adero account identifier to Anthropic or OpenAI as an end-user identifier in the AI requests used by the current Service. However, the text and contextual information necessary to perform AI functions may be processed by those providers.

For example, information you type may be processed to generate a companion response or to retrieve relevant memories.

Our Privacy Policy provides more detailed information about what information is processed, why it is processed, and the service providers involved.

11. Voice Dictation#

If you use supported voice-dictation functionality, speech recognition may occur on your device when supported by Apple.

Where on-device recognition is unavailable, Apple may process audio as part of its speech-recognition service.

Adero receives the resulting text for use as a message. Adero does not currently operate a V1 voice-calling service or store raw voice recordings as part of ordinary Adero conversations.

Apple's processing is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.

12. Information About Other People#

If you tell Adero about another person, information about that person may become part of the context or memories used to personalize your conversations.

That person may not be an Adero user and may not know that you discussed them.

Please use appropriate judgment before sharing another person's private, sensitive, confidential, medical, financial, intimate, or identifying information.

Do not provide information about another person when you do not have the right to disclose it.

13. Privacy and Data#

Using an AI companion necessarily involves processing information from your conversations.

Our Privacy Policy explains in greater detail:

what information Adero collects;

how conversations are processed;

personalization and memory;

AI providers and other service providers;

safety processing;

presence and interaction information;

retention;

account deletion;

legal and operational records; and

your privacy choices and rights.

Please read the Privacy Policy if you want to understand how information associated with your use of Adero is handled.

14. The Technology Will Change#

Artificial-intelligence technology changes quickly.

Adero may change the models, systems, providers, safety mechanisms, memory systems, or other technology used to provide the Service.

Those changes can affect how a companion responds, what it remembers, how accurately it understands you, or how its personality is expressed.

We may update this disclosure when material aspects of Adero's AI systems or practices change.

15. The Most Important Things to Remember#

When using Adero:

Adero companions are AI, not people.

They can remember what you share and use it to make conversations more personal.

They can also misunderstand you, remember something incorrectly, make faulty inferences, and confidently say things that are wrong.

Adero is not a therapist, doctor, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice.

Its automated safety systems can fail and should never be relied upon as emergency monitoring.

And however natural or personal a conversation feels, you are interacting with artificial intelligence.
